The legendary Bran Castle.

Serving as the former residence of Queen Marie of Romania and serving as inspiration for Bram Stoker's 1897 novel, Dracula, this castle is national landmark and one of the most beautiful in Europe according to Conde Nast Traveller. Originally built in the late 14th century, the castle has weathered the tides of time, bearing witness to the ebb and flow of empires and ideologies. From its origins as a Teutonic stronghold to its transformation into a royal sanctuary, Bran Castle has evolved alongside the shifting sands of Romanian history

Throughout the centuries, Bran Castle has witnessed a myriad of historical events, from being a strategic fortress against Ottoman expansion to serving as a royal summer residence in the early 20th century under Queen Marie's ownership. Queen Mary was born a princess of Great Britain and Ireland, being the granddaughter of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom, she restored Bran Castle to it’s former glory and ensured it’s history continues.

Despite changes in ownership and functions, including a period as a hospital during World War II, the castle has remained a symbol of resilience and cultural heritage. Its restoration in 1993 and subsequent legal restitution to the heirs of Princess Ileana of Romania and Archduke Anton of Austria in 2009 mark significant milestones, ensuring its continued prominence as one of Europe's most captivating and historically significant castles.
