Anshuman Jeswal is a dedicated teacher of Hatha Yoga, Kriya Yoga, and authentic Pranayam, drawing from years of immersive study and practice in traditional ashrams across India. His spiritual path has taken him deep into the yogic sciences, particularly at Sadhguru’s Isha Ashram, where he lived and trained extensively. Anshuman is also known for riding alongside Sadhguru on a motorbike journey across South India, a high-profile initiative to raise awareness and funds for water conservation projects.
A lifelong devotee of Shiva, Anshuman weaves his spiritual commitment into every aspect of his life — whether on the mat, with his family, or in his creative and culinary ventures.
In daily life, Anshuman heads Masala Baba, a traveling Indian food pop-up known for serving authentic Indian cuisine infused with tradition, soul, and flavor. His cooking, like his teaching, is rooted in love, lineage, and lived experience.
Professionally, Anshuman has a rich background in the Indian television and film industry, having spent over two decades as a director, writer, creative producer, and MTV India host. He has collaborated with major production houses and broadcasters, and worked on high-profile projects including the Oscar-winning film The Jungle Book and major international advertising campaigns.
He is also the creative mind behind numerous cultural and music festivals in India and abroad — blending his deep understanding of art, media, and consciousness. While he quietly founded the platform Sadhus & Samurais, he now focuses his energy on more intimate expressions of culture, food, and spirituality.
Born in Bombay on 2 October 1977 — the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi — into a family of freedom fighters, politicians, educators, and artists, Anshuman carries forward a legacy of service, creativity, and inner inquiry. A devoted father, teacher, and visionary, he continues to embody the spirit of the sacred in the everyday.
