Eat & Drink

Our meals have limited number of seatings, are served at set times and rarely repeat twice. Due to the remote location of our restaurant and our zero waste policy we cannot serve walk-ins with no prior reservation. 

We are an informal, communal & casual dining atmosphere with probably the best views in Romania.

We do seasonal & creative buffets that include Wild Foods, Permaculture & farm to table ingredients. You can dine with us on our regular breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets or join our supper club dining experiences on set dates. 

Our cuisine is similar to a paleo diet with sugar free, gluten free and dairy free options. Foods that our hunter-gatherer ancestors would have eaten: whole, seasonal, local & wild ingredients, and avoiding modern processed foods.

To us, this is healthy, varied, abundant food.

Established in 2016

Over the last 8 years we has served plant rich & locally sourced meals in this format to over 35 000 people from all over the world, acknowledged by publications like The Guardian, Lonely Planet & World’s 50 Best Taste Hunters as colourful and creative plant rich casual dining food.

Our food is driven by what’s in season & what we like to eat, inspired by our global travels and the incredible produce we source in our area. We’d like to think our food is thoughtful, approachable, soul satisfying and fun.

When we first moved to Romania we noticed there are two kinds of eateries in our area, either the pasta pizza burgers or the traditional meat heavy dishes. We wanted to create something different and varied using the abundant fresh produce, mainly based on plants with the occasional addition of good, hormone free ethically sourced animal protein. Similar to what we eat in our own home. Over a week at Akasha we create on average 84+ different dishes and combinations that change with the seasons. 

We serve our meals in a buffet style setting, so the meal feels more like a celebration and less like a restaurant, our meals are meant for people who, like us, share a love for real, healthy, seasonal food, slow cooking, organic ingredients, and nutritionally balanced meals.

To book on our regular meals - a credit / debit card must be added as security for the booking and a €20 fee will be charged in case of no-show or late cancellation. Free cancellations can be made up to 48hrs before the date of the booking.

To book our supper club - 50% payment is required upfront to purchase a ticket. Free cancellations can be made up to 3 days before the date of the booking.

To book our hosted chef series - full payment is required upfront to purchase a ticket as these are limited seating, unique events. Free cancellations can be made up to 7 days before the date of the booking.

Our experiences are mainly aimed at adults, parents are advised to only book for children who would enjoy these kind of food experiences and be ok with our quiet, limited seating, relaxing environment.

Our buffets include 80% plants and 20% animal protein at every meal.

Our food comes from our permaculture garden, sourced from local producers, foraged in our immediate surroundings and use mainly seasonal ingredients.

Menus change once per month.

You will rarely eat the same food twice at Akasha.

    -Plant-based milk we make fresh daily (e.g., almond milk, oat milk)

    -Vegan cheeses & butter (made from nuts)

    -Plant-based protein powders (e.g., pea protein, hemp protein)

    - Legumes (lentils, chickpeas, black beans, kidney beans)

    - Grains (rice, quinoa, oats, barley)

    - Plant-based virgin oils (e.g., olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil)

    -Homemade ferments & pickles.

    -Sweeteners: stevia or honey for those that tolerate honey.

    We do not use:

    Tofu and tempeh

    Seitan

    Agave / Date Syrup

  • Our Vegetarian / Pescatarian Meals include ingredients like:

    - Local bread or gluten free bread

    -Seasonal Fruits & Vegetables

    - Local Dairy, Cheeses, Butter, Milk, Yogurts or Kefir

    - Farm Fresh Eggs, free range

    - Local Trout

    - Local Honey
