Sustainability, Ethics & Transparency

We believe in ethical, sustainable business practices and no retreat can run only in the benefit of it’s guests it has to also work for the people that live and dedicate their time to create exceptional memorable wellness experiences. To run our standard retreats at Akasha following ethical principles we employ 16 full time local & permanent live-in staff who receive decent salaries (not minimum wage) to support their families and livelihoods. Our. yoga teachers, facilitators and guest speakers are all compensated fairly for their time at Akasha so they can be fully present with you during retreat and support their sources of income. We also don’t compromise on the quality of produce we choose to offer so we work with local farmers and producers who can offer us the best organic produce available each season and delivered especially to Akasha, we also source only organic dry ingredients, supplements and superfoods, this usually costs more than buying from commercial large supermarkets.  In order to create an oasis of peace and harmony in a little village, off grid from the usual things like municipal water, public transport connections we’ve invested heavily in our own infrastructure and regular maintenance.
